Stirling PDF brings common document jobs such as merging, splitting, signing, redacting, converting, OCR, compression, and editing into one interface. It can run as a personal desktop application, a browser-based self-hosted service, or a private API, allowing documents to be processed without sending them to an unrelated external tool. No-code workflows and REST endpoints support repeated or integrated processing, and a basic server can be started with Docker. The project follows an open-core model, so organizations should review which enterprise capabilities and license terms apply.

It can run as a single Go binary or a small Docker deployment backed by SQLite, MySQL, or PostgreSQL. Notes remain portable, the application reports no telemetry, and REST and gRPC APIs make it practical to connect other tools and automations.
