AGENTS.md defines a predictable, open file format for giving coding agents project context and instructions. Teams can record environment tips, testing commands, and pull-request rules in one place, while the accompanying site explains the format and shows a minimal example.

SKILL.mk proposes a Makefile-based specification and toolset for agent skill documents. Workflows become explicit targets and dependency graphs, allowing a dedicated loader to fetch only the recipe associated with the current keyword instead of injecting the whole skill at once. Because the document is also runnable, it can be verified and audited through Git history, invocation statistics, or other checks, and a conversion script helps translate existing SKILL.md collections. This is a proposed skill-document format rather than a standalone end-user application.

Mem0 stores user, session, and agent state so assistants, support bots, and automated systems can recall preferences and prior interactions. Developers can integrate it through Python or JavaScript libraries, a CLI, a self-hosted server, or the managed platform. Its core workflow depends on an LLM and an embedding model, and some managed-platform optimizations are not included in the open-source SDK.

AutoGen provides multi-agent orchestration, tool use, and a visual studio for prototyping workflows in which agents work autonomously or alongside people. The project is now in maintenance mode and will not receive new features. Existing users can continue using it or follow the migration guide, while new projects are directed to Microsoft Agent Framework.
