It can fall back to web-only research without keys, while richer sources require your own API credentials, browser sessions, or helper tools, and it runs in many Agent Skills hosts or as a Claude Desktop MCP bundle.

Claude Scientific Writer combines literature search, citation management, peer review, and specialized scientific-writing skills for papers, reviews, reports, posters, slides, and grant proposals. It can run as a Claude Code plugin or through its Python package and API.
