BetterShot is a local-first macOS menu-bar app for region, window, and full-screen capture, screen recording, OCR, and color picking. It can also run headlessly and expose local LLM, image, speech-to-text, and text-to-speech functions over HTTP. Docker is the recommended setup, while manual installation requires Python 3.13 and a substantial set of system dependencies.

HiPixel is a native macOS image upscaling app built around Upscayl models. Users can drag in images for automatic processing, run batches, watch folders for new files, or trigger jobs through Apple Shortcuts and a URL scheme. It includes models for photos, lower-resource processing, detail preservation, and digital art, and it can load compatible custom models. macOS 13 or later is required.
