MarkText is a desktop Markdown editor with real-time visual preview and optional source, typewriter, and focus modes. It supports CommonMark, GitHub Flavored Markdown, math expressions, front matter, emojis, and direct image pasting, then exports finished documents as HTML or PDF on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Pot handles translation from selected text, a dedicated input window, clipboard monitoring, or a captured screen region, and can perform OCR before translating an image. It can query multiple translation, recognition, and speech services in parallel, supports plugins and external calls, and runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Zettlr combines Markdown writing, citation workflows, full-text search, and Zettelkasten-style knowledge management in a desktop application. It integrates with reference managers such as Zotero and JabRef and uses Pandoc, LaTeX, Textbundle, and document templates for publication-oriented exports; installing LaTeX is needed to unlock every export profile.

Gridea provides a desktop workflow for writing Markdown posts, inserting images and cover art, grouping articles, configuring menus, and choosing themes. It can publish the generated site through GitHub Pages or Coding Pages, connect Gitalk or DisqusJS comments, and keep its source folder synchronized across devices through services such as OneDrive, iCloud, or Dropbox.
