Self-host team chat, documents, databases, and files in a local-first workspace.
Project overviewColanode combines team messaging, rich-text pages, structured databases, and file management in web and desktop clients that can connect to multiple servers and workspaces. Changes are written to local SQLite first and synchronized in the background, allowing continued work while offline and concurrent editing when teammates reconnect. Self-hosting requires Postgres, Redis, and a file storage backend. The hosted web client is currently described as an early preview and may still have browser compatibility issues.

Use an unofficial Teams client with practical Linux desktop integration.
Project overviewTeams for Linux wraps the Teams web app in an unofficial desktop client with notifications, tray integration, screen sharing, custom backgrounds, and multiple account profiles. It is designed primarily for Linux and can be installed through common distribution packages or release builds. Some behavior remains limited by the Teams web experience, and the app disables Electron's built-in context isolation and sandboxing, so security-conscious users should consider running it through Flatpak, Snap, Firejail, or another system-level sandbox.

This repository contains the open-source predecessor to Franz 6 and is no longer the active product codebase. It remains useful for source reference or self-building, while the current Franz application is distributed separately through the official website.

The project notes that downloadable Windows binaries may be unsigned and macOS binaries are unsigned and unnotarized, so the operating system may block the first launch.

Block ads, trackers, and malicious requests across desktop applications system-wide.
Project overviewZen runs a local system proxy on Windows, macOS, and Linux to block ads, tracking scripts, malware, and other unwanted requests from browsers, desktop applications, and operating-system components. Users can inspect blocked requests and the rule that matched, then use bundled filters or add hosts files and EasyList-style lists. The first run requires installing a root certificate generated locally so HTTPS traffic can be inspected. On Linux, automatic proxy configuration is currently limited to GNOME- and KDE-based desktops.
